Song of Songs is a book of poetry in the Bible where the verses center around the physical and emotional intimacy and love between a couple. Yes, you read that correctly!
The book can be seen as a metaphor for the intimacy we should personally have with God, or even the intimacy between Christ and the church or God and Israel (in the Old Testament). Having an emotional and spiritual intimacy with God is incredibly important and is really the foundation of Christianity… but there’s really no denying that this book is also about the physical and emotional intimacy between a couple!
In honor of Valentine’s Day this year, we wanted to share 10 Scriptures from Song of Songs that will help you celebrate love. These were some of the more “PG-rated” Scriptures, but if you’re looking for something “spicier”, we recommend going back to the Bible and reading through Song of Songs with your spouse (and we’ll leave it at that)!
